Lesley Porcelli has been writing and thinking about lots of things, but mostly food, for more than ten years. She was a staff writer at Martha Stewart Living as well as an editor at Gourmet (where she authored the online column The Kids' Menu), and has a culinary degree from the Institute of Culinary Education. Always a champion for the home cook, she launched her blog ugly but good in 2012, a celebration of how, unlike restaurant food, a meal you make yourself (and the process of getting there) isn't always pretty, but it's usually pretty darn good.
